Gender Equality
INM considers gender equality as an overall guiding principle and actively promotes equal professional opportunities for women and men as well as a family-oriented institute culture. The institute’s audit and equality team supports and advises the INM management in this process. It assists INM employees in all questions regarding equal opportunities and the balance of private life, family, and career.
Elements of Gender Equality and Gender Equality Plan
INM supports the Leibniz Association’s goals for equal opportunities and has committed itself to respect the “Research-oriented Equality Standards” of the German Research Foundation (DFG). As an institute of the Leibniz Association, INM has introduced flexible target quotas to increase the proportion of women among scientific staff and management positions (cascade model). The Gender Equality Plan (GEP) defines the institute’s goals and measures to further enforce equal opportunities for women and men.
Details on the basics of gender equality work and the gender equality plan can be found here.

Audit workandfamily
The INM strives for a family-oriented institute culture to enable employees to balance work with their private and family life. It was certified for its family-friendliness within the audit berufundfamilie (audit workandfamily) for the first time in 2012 and has been successfully re-audited every three years. The areas of activity include for example, the working conditions, personnel management, and development, as well as the support for employees with care responsibilities. Details on the contents of the audit can be found here.
