The INM awards two scholarships for a research internship in materials science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The internship will take place from June to August 2021 (9 weeks) as part of the ICMR Undergraduate Research Internship Program between the UCSB, Saarland University, and the INM.
Optogenetics and photonic technologies are changing the future of medicine. To implement light‐based therapies in the clinic, patient‐friendly devices that can deliver light inside the body while offering tunable properties and compatibility with soft tissues are needed. In a cooperation project between the INM and the University of Namibia (UNAM), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, a fireproof building material made of acacia wood chippings and an inorganic binder was developed.
